Labradoodle Puppies

Labradoodle puppies can be a terrific edition to your family, but any dog's temperament and health very much depend on its breeding. That's why you should choose Stargazer Labradoodles if you are interested in one of these unique dogs.

With the explosion in popularity of Labradoodle puppies, there also has been a proliferation of so-called “backyard” breeders looking to just make a buck. Or, sure, you could probably find Labradoodle puppies at a local pet store, but those dogs are away from their parents and stuck mostly in a cage all day (both bad for the dog).

The difference with us is that our Labradoodles are family. All of our Labradoodle puppies have had the unique opportunity to be raised at our California home by both their mom and dad, who live as a part of our family in every way. Not a lot of breeders will have both parents on site. The advantages of that are that we know the parents' physical and behavioral characteristics and how healthy they are, which are all indicators of how the puppies may turn out. We can promise you that all of our Labradoodles love children and other animals. And we can provide photos to prove it.

So why choose Labradoodle puppies over other breeds? Of course not all dogs are the same, but in general Labradoodles are very trainable, sociable and playful but not yappy. They like their exercise but also will curl up at your feet. You don't have to worry about them around children as they are non-aggressive animals. And many people choose them because of their non-allergenic coat. For example, we got our first Labradoodle years back because our son has asthma. These dogs won't be an issue to anyone with asthma or other respiratory problems.

How did they get this way? They are a breed, originating in Australia in 1989, of a Poodle and a Labrador. And if you know your dogs, Poodles and Labs are very friendly, intelligent dogs. Poodles, in addition, are very low-shedders, as are Labradoodles, who also enjoy the water and a good swim.

We might be biased, but we think this is just about the best dog breed there is. Now, they are not yet recognized by the American Kennel Club if that matters to you. But you will be getting a true family member for years and years. These dogs have a very good life expectancy.

There are three types of Australian Labradoodle puppies: Fleece coated (soft and wavy), hair coated (kind of like a Labrador's coat) and wool (a tight, thick curl). The dogs come in three sizes: Standard (21"-24" up to 75 pounds), Middle (17"-20" up to 30 pounds) and Mini (12"-16" up to 23 pounds), with females generally smaller than males. The colors can run the table from apricot, chocolate, parchment, cream, gold, red, black and more.
